CPVC vs PPR Pipes: Which Plumbing System Suits Your Home?

CPVC (Solvent-Welded)

Joints are fused with solvent cement—quick, no special tools needed. CPVC handles temperatures up to 93 °C and is widely available across India. Downside: joints are permanent; repairs mean cutting and re-joining.

PPR (Heat-Fused)

Joints are welded with a heating tool, creating a seamless bond stronger than the pipe itself. PPR lasts 50+ years and is preferred in premium builds. However, the fusion machine and fittings cost more.

For budget-conscious residential projects, CPVC is the pragmatic choice. For long-term durability with zero leak risk, PPR is worth the premium.
